Mark Strakbein

MHS Class of 1979

Mark Strakbein was named Colorado High School Principal of the Year for 2010.  He has served as principal at Eagle Valley High School for eight years and began his career with Eagle County Schools 17 years ago.  He’s praised for transforming the high school from a place where students struggled and staff often felt they lacked direction, to a dynamic environment in which kids are inspired to learn, and staff feels valued and highly motivated.  Mark continued his education at Western State College and graduated in 1984.  He and his wife Karen raised their three kids in Eagle and intend to remain in Eagle.
